The Planets in Astroneer each have a type associated to them. Each type has varying differences, from amount of sun, to the types of resources that it may contain.

Icon Sylva.png Terran[edit | edit source]

Terran-type planets are lush, verdant planets with plains, mountains and forests featured across the surface. The occasional canyon may intersect near a mountain, making driving dangerous if not paying attention.

Sylva is the Terran planet.

Icon Desolo.png Barren[edit | edit source]

Barren-type planets are more like moons, devoid of much plant-life, but are marked with many craters.

Desolo is the Barren planet, and also the moon of Sylva.

Icon Calidor.png Arid[edit | edit source]

Arid-type planets are dry and dusty, with large dunes.

Calidor is the Arid planet.

Icon Vesania.png Exotic[edit | edit source]

Exotic-type planets are forested, hilly planets, with plant-life in great abundance.

Vesania is the Exotic planet.

Icon Novus.png Exotic Moon[edit | edit source]

Exotic Moon-type planets are sparsely forested, with canyons stretching across the surface, and craters scattered around the surface.

Novus is the Exotic Moon planet, and the moon of Vesania.

Icon Glacio.png Tundra[edit | edit source]

Tundra-type planets are cold and icy, with the occasional warm spot where the ice has melted, revealing the plant life underneath. Large glaciers cover the planet, with steep drops to the icy plains below.

Glacio is the Tundra planet.

Icon Atrox.png Radiated[edit | edit source]

Radiated-type planets are toxic wastelands, with deep canyons and hills scattering the surface, and the occasional crater. Hazardous plant life is in abundance on the surface, waiting to target any unsuspecting players.

Atrox is the Radiated planet.
