The following table lists controls of Astroneer with the Xbox Controller.

Cursor Mode[edit | edit source]
Many tasks in Astroneer require entering Cursor Mode by holding . When Cursor Mode is active, a white circular reticle appears on the screen, which can be moved with . Pressing on a selectable object will select that object, at which point can be released.
While an object is selected, moves that object around and can be used to move the player as normal. Pressing again will place the object down and exit Cursor Mode.
If the selected object is Small, pressing or will transfer it into the player's Backpack unless the Backpack is full. Pressing or while selecting a Medium object will place it in the player's hands to carry, but movement speed will slow.
When the Backpack interface is open, Cursor Mode can be used to move objects in and out of a player's Backpack.
