A Harvestable.
Harvestables are renewable items in Astroneer which grow on some plants and rocks. Upon activation, the player will receive between 8 and 65 bytes. After activation, the harvestable will respawn within 2-3 minutes. A harvestables plant will have between one and four slots on which harvestables will grow, with each slot having its own respawn timer. Harvestables will not respawn if the plant or rock that they were growing on is uprooted. However, the plant or rock may have a valuable research item underneath which can only be accessed by uprooting the plant or rock.
Synthetic harvestables also spawn randomly on the backpacks of the Astroneer bodies that the player may find in the world. These give significantly more bytes than the rock and plant variants. These harvestables do not respawn.
