Laterite is one of the resources in Astroneer. It is mined from brownish crystalline deposits and can be refined in the Smelter to produce Aluminum.
Laterite can be found in caves on Terran, as well as on the surfaces and in the caves of Arid, Barren, Exotic and Radiated.
Trivia
Laterite was called Hematite in one of the developer Let's Plays. Hematite is an existing ore which currently serves no in-game purpose.
