The Small Generator is one of the Generators in Astroneer and produces power when consuming Organics.
Usage
This generator can be placed in either a Widget slot on a player's backpack or on a platform slot. Once a stack of Organic is placed on top of it, the generator will convert the organic to energy over time.
Once started, the generator will consume the block of Organic even when there is no power needed on the backpack or in the network, but can be toggled on or off with the action key. Once the organic resource has been attached to the generator it cannot be removed.
- The generator produces at a rate of 1 unit/sec or 4 sec/bar. One stack of Organic will run for 40 seconds and fill 10 bars
Trivia
In the Excavation Update, the Small Generator swapped places with the Small Solar Panel, specifically as a power management tutorial.
In the Basebuilding Update, the generator can now be toggled on or off, saving fuel. It also creates a small platform under it when placed on the ground.
